Has anyone experienced issues with using Enterprise Explorer in high resolution?

We have a number of laptops with 3200*1800 and if you are using that in combination with 200% scaling, there can be overlapping in displaying list of lines.

For example in ‘Equipment Object Navigator’, where the tree structure would be a bit compressed and lines overlapping.

We solved it by lowering the resolution to 1920*1080, but would like to go back to a higher resolution because of other applications.

Is there any limitations in support for higher screen resolutions with Enterprise Explorer?

(IFS application 10 upgrade 7)

I’ve had the same issues when running IEE on a high res screen. Best result is using scaling at 100% and lower resolution like 1600*900, or maybe 1920*1080 as you’ve tried. It’s a known issue, but not something that I think will be solved as we’ve moved to Aurena.

Hi @GISANCAR  and @anmise,

When the effective resolution drops below or very much higher than the supported effective resolution (1024 x 768), due to the reduced or extreme workspace on IFS Enterprise Explorer client, operations and data visibility on some application forms could be unavailable or corrupted for the end user.

Please find the table given below to and the effective screen resolutions for IFS APP 10 of IEE are clearly mentioned.

Hi @Udara.Hasantha

there are way more devices available, especially ultra wide screens.

A typical device is a 34” monitor with a native resolution of 3440 x 1440. Which many people like to scale 125% for daily use. Changing the resolution instead is not an option because most applications that support scaling will then give a horrible optical impression.

So, is IFS really providing a list of supported screen sizes and resolutions that customers are forced to use? We haven’t been aware about such restriction. Not being allowed to use any bigger screen than 24” is really a hard one.

A hint for users who have more screens is to “sacrifice” one screen by canging the resolution to a value that is comfortable and use that screen as main screen. Then there is no issue to display the IEE form on the secondary, scaled screen. So I use my notebook screen with 1600 x 900 with 100% scaling as main screen.

Best Regards,

Wolfgang
