Dear IFS experts,

we use IFS APPS 10 in the cloud and want to automatically import financial files into IFS.

This means that we need to copy our files to the IFS database server. For this case we have boomi.

What do I need to set up?

How did you manage this process and what would you recommend?

@Link I think a good starting point would be the below post:

Basically you would need to be able to identify the correct Projection to be called from Boomi.

Hi @Link @Marcel.Ausan

I guess your question is related to importing files via External file templates in IFS Cloud?

For this purpose, you can load the files via IFS Connect instead of database server folder and most convenient is to setup a SFTP reader to read the files.

There are predefined routing rule/address and you can modify them according to your need to load the files.

Read more about the setup in the documentation.

External Files Interface - Technical Documentation For IFS Cloud

Hope it helps!

Dear @dsj

yes, that’s right. But we use IFS APPS 10 in the cloud.

It is the same approach.

I will check that post.

Thank you. 😊

Hi @Link

Sorry I misread your question. I checked the IFS10 code (UPD 18) and noted that Ext_File_Server_Util_API.Load_External_File interface is not available. I believe this is only available for IFSCloud. In Apps10 you would need to copy the file to database server and for cloud installations it’s best to contact IFS support.

CHeers!

Dear @dsj

everything is fine. We have UPD21 and this API is available.

Dear @dsj

everything is fine. We have UPD21 and this API is available.

Thanks for confirming @Link  Now I know it’s available in Apps10 also 😎

There are sample routing address and inbound routing rule name Example_External_File_Import which you can use to create your own IFS Connect setup to load external files.

Hope it helps!

Hi @dsj

it sounds nice but I haven’t these examples.

May I ask you to post these examples here? 😊
