Dear community

A custom tab on Customer/Supplier/Company using keys supplier_id and party_type does not work in IFS Cloud.

Reason is that party_type under Apps 10 is “Supplier” or “Customer” or “Company”.

However, in IFS Cloud, it expects “SUPPLIER” or “CUSTOMER” or “COMPANY” for reading the records, but when writing into the table, it continues to want to write “Supplier”, “Customer”, “Company” which of course will fail. IFS support refuses my ticket CS0294816, but we think it's a framework issue (since I can’t map it against party_type_db to have a permanent fix).

Any suggestion highly appreciated.

Thanks

Dominik

Hi Dominik

I have recreated the issue you described in our cloud 23R1 instance.

Here you can see a dummy record I added that is bound to the supplier:

When I click “+”, the framework adds the keys with “Supplier” as the Party Type:

If I click save this raises an error due to the wrong party type.

It is certainly an issue. I feel there must be a way to convert the party type back to party type DB when clicking save but I’m not seeing it right now. Hopefully one of the community can see an easy way to convert this in page designer or the projection configuration.

Thanks

Nathan

@Nathanb

Just had a call with support. They agree it does not work with custom field type string and suggested that it must be of type enumeration:

i will try this now
