Custom objects are one of the fantastic functionality IFS application provides. Are there any self-learning materials or any guidance for learning custom object functionality? (Videos or well-maintained pdf or a word document)

Some basic examples can be found in the IFS help documentation. But I would like to get a deeper understanding with basics to complex examples of creating custom objects and the standards that we need to follow, the best practices, etc.

We have raised this with IFS directly and requested more technical documentation but they would give us nothing more than is available in the online help.

Hi @Jason_beth,

You could get an idea on how to get started with custom objects with the help of the online documentation. However, for complex examples of creating and configuring custom objects, you could contact IFS through a case and request a resource for you to work with as it will be hard to work with a documentation when it comes to complex examples and real world application of custom objects.

Currently there are few videos in microsoftstream channel. But they are at introductory level. We plan to add more content there.

Nilantha, your channel doesn’t appear to be available...

Nilantha, still this link is not available. Please inform how to access it.

Jason,

Attached are a  couple of documents covering how to setup custom fields and custom tabs in Apps 9 (but principles will apply in Apps 10 EE) and are comprehensive as to what you can do with them as well.

Hope is helps,

Antony
