Having trouble displaying a BLOB field in Crystal.

If I drag media_thumb from media_item onto my report, it displays the thumbnail in design mode, but when I preview, it errors with

If I insert a picture and change the properties of the picture to use the media_thumb field, that also crashes saying you can’t use blob fields in queries.

Any ideas how I get around this. TIA.
