Hello All,

I'm interested in leveraging REST APIs to integrate IFS (Cloud or Applications) with external systems. I'm looking for guidance on the best practices for creating and deploying these APIs within IFS.

Here are some specific areas where I'd appreciate insights:

  1. Development Tools and Frameworks: What tools or frameworks are recommended for building REST APIs in IFS? Are there any IFS-specific tools or preferred approaches?
  2. Authentication and Authorization: What are the best practices for securing REST APIs in IFS? How can I implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms
  3. Deployment Considerations: Are there any specific considerations for deploying REST APIs within an on-premise IFS installation?
  4. Are there any existing resources or documentation that would be helpful for getting started with IFS REST API development

I appreciate any insights and advice the community can offer!

@VICMUMO Please refer the TechDoc for guidelines and a quick start guide also on the above topics. There are subsections under this link on those.

Hi @ashdlk, thanks, this info is really helpful. I appreciate it.

Do we have the ability to create more of these? apart from the already existing ones?

@VICMUMO We can definitely improve. Are there any specific topics in your mind we can add more documentation on ?

@ashdlk I noticed I was able to view some from the PROJ and GENRES components, So assuming I would want to view from another component like PERSON, how would I do that?
