We’ve done V8 to V9, and in the area you are talking about related to customizations, we had tons of problems and quite a bit of rework on most of the items to make sure they worked in V9. Many of them were relatively small things like a field name change at the table level would break every quick report or custom field related to that change.
For V9 to IFS Cloud which we are planning on undertaking, we are starting with the assumption that every customization will not work and will need updated and tested. Every process will need validated again.
We did the upgrade internally with only the scripts and repair cases handled by IFS. Depending on the size of your internal team and the speed at which you want to complete the upgrade, that may not be a viable option. For the next upgrade, our team will be smaller, we will likely augment with a combination of AMS related services and possibly an IFS Partner as well.
The more resource you want to throw at the upgrade, the faster you can go, but the more it will cost.
Hi @BLLBrucemo
Version upgrade complete? If it is completed, can you share your experiences?
