I want to import the lease accounting contracts through an external file. Appreciate it if you can let me know the steps to be followed. In case of importing the contracts is it possible to enable the 'Exclude from Postings' for certain periods of the Amortization Schedule.

IFS Cloud no longer has the ability to create new user defined external file types. I do not see any existing file types for Lease.
The migration job does not have the same limitations as external file types. You should be able to create a migration job that can load the lease data.
