Hello,

The issue is related to deletion of some of the tax records from Tax Transactions screen, after analysis it was found that we have an option on the screen ‘Tax Ledger Parameters’ named as ‘Delete Tax Transactions with Status False’.

Can someone please help in understanding the business logic and purpose of this option, and why it only works when Tax method is selected as ‘Payment’ in supplier invoice.

Thanks

Hi @Surbhi

As per my understanding;

The reason why the tax transactions can only be deleted when the tax method is set to "Payment" in supplier invoices likely has to do with how the organization handles taxes. In the "Payment" method, tax is calculated and managed based on the actual payments made, not just the invoice itself. This setup allows IFS to safely identify and delete tax transactions that haven't been finalized or correctly linked to payments, without affecting the recorded tax amounts.

By limiting the deletion to the "Payment" method, IFS avoids removing important transactions that are needed under other methods, like "Invoice," where tax is recorded earlier (when the invoice is issued). This helps ensure that the tax reports stay accurate.

As a result of this activity:

  • If you specified that tax transactions with a False status should be deleted, tax reports will not include those transactions.
  • Tax report files can be saved to the specified output file directory.
  • The possibility to change information relating to tax transactions in the Tax Transactions window will be determined by the parameters specified in the Tax Ledger Parameters window.
  • The tax base amount will be based on the value you have selected for the Tax Base Amount field.
  • If you select the Include Cancelled Invoices check box, the cancelled invoices will be included in tax proposals.
