The customer asked me what the Tax ID Type is good for? I cannot find the logic behind this Field. Some time i can enter a Tax ID Number without the Tax ID Type and somethimes i must enter the tax id type. What is the field good for and whats the impact on the system?

IFS is a global software product. Many countries use tax ID type. For example, I have seen tax ID type used in Argentina, Mexico. I believe Portugal, US, Chile, and others.
In many countries you may have different types of tax id numbers, for example in US we can have a SSN or TIN.
If a given country has no need for the tax ID type, then it would not be used.
Per IFS Help - Use this window to define the tax ID types to connect to companies, suppliers, and customers. You can then use this information for purposes such as tax reporting, invoice document printing, etc.
