Need advise, on opening and closing of shop order  from previous week or month .

 

Question 1:  If shop order is closed for example: in previous week and it gets re- opened to make any changes to shop order, this is giving me material variance in GL in the current period.(ie correction week).

But sometime, when a shop order is opened and closed again without any changes to the shop order its still giving material variance again in GL. if there is no change why does IFS gives shop order variance again? and how can we avoid this?

 

Question 2:

sometime our we need to update the notes on control plan lines in a shop order, these orders can be old ie previous period, again this is re-calculating material variance.

How can we overcome this, is there better way of updating notes on control plan without it impacting the material variance.

You can use Cost parameter “Use SO start date when calculate variance bookings.”.  

The parameter is used in shop order cost variance logic. If set to No then system will use the actual close date when calculating variances.
