If we setup account in pre posing for inventory part in PO line, should it override M10 posting control at receipt?

Hi @Awije

In IFS, setting up an account in pre-posting for an inventory part on a purchase order (PO) line does not override the M10 posting control at receipt. The ARRIVAL transaction, which is used when inventory items are received, does not rely on pre-posting for M1 or M10 postings. This means that even if you set up pre-posting for an inventory part line in the PO, it will not be used in the financial transaction at the receipt stage.

Thanks. what is the purpose of adding preposting for inventory lines?

Hi,

A PO line, can be inventory or non-inventory.   The same pre-posting will affect the non-inventory purchase. Except for project, I agree pre-posting the PO line  will not do much for an inventory purchase.

See the business events screen, as this will note what gets updated from the pre-posting.  For example see the arrival event.

Best regards,

Thomas
