Imagining the following scenario in the cost allocation functionality. There are the following Code parts defined:
With the cost allocation functionality, the Code Part Value "Preliminary 1" must allocate 25% of costs to "Cost Center A" and 75% to "Cost Center B".
Example:
However, Code part Value "Preliminary 2" must allocate cost to "Cost Center A" and "Cost Center B" according to the percentage of sales in each of these cost centers.

For the fixed percentages, you can set up factors to apply to selected balances to allocate.
For the allocation based on percentage of sales you’ll set up a distribution to calculate the percent applicable to each cost center based on sales, then use that distribution to apply to selected balances to allocate.
