Hello,

I got this error while creating a pca procedure. Does anyone know how to correct it ?

Does anyone has an example on how to create a PCA procedure ?

Hello @MelLindaB

You need to define basic data on company level in order to use PCA. Here you can see sample data.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Go to the company and set up the following. - I’m sharing a screen print.

You would set up something like this - from the company screen.

Hi,

I “now” see the second part of the PCA  question for examples.

That’s fairly tough in in this type of forum.    IFS help (I believe) still has an example of how to set up and use PCA.  Honestly, I never liked the example as it’s fairly robust.  In learning / training we always need to walk before we run.

IMO, the first thing to do with PCA is to start with a factor (manual factor) where you set a number as the percentage.  Use that factor in a step to create a voucher.  Next, I would suggest maybe an automatic factor where you define numerator / denominator to calculate a rate. That’s a prepare factor step, that is then used on a create / generate voucher step.

Also, another thing is to set up a manual distribution for example distribute by cost center. In the manual type distribution, manually key in CC1, CC2, CC3 (type data) with amounts. Then set as prepared and IFS then calculates the %.   You then use the generate voucher / create voucher type

The other more robust test is to try the automatic distribution. This is the “run” type step where IFS then creates the listing (for example used cost centers) with values and amounts. Again, you then use that distribution within another step.

Long Long ago, I leaned PCA on my own.  I don’t recommend that. Seek assistance from someone who knows the tool, it will make learning much faster / easier.  It can be very confusing - at first.

I would recommend 1 Hr working with someone who knows it. After that most people are good to go. Walk, then run.

Best regards,

Thomas
