On work task line, you can see the current pre posting for cost center is set. if I changed the object ID, i would like the cost center in Pre Posting being changed automatically by a designated cost center value. my question would be, how to connect the cost center to object ID? Thank you.

Hi @ronhu
Regarding “how to connect the cost center to object ID”, please check below steps.
Steps:
1. Open “Define Code String” page.
2. Here you can define Code parts where Logical code part Cost center. Multiple code parts can be defined with Logical code part = Cost center. However, only the 1st cost center in the hierarchy will be fetched to the object.
3. Now create or select a serial/functional object that is in a site which belongs to the same company where you defined the above code string. Note that the “Internal name” of the code parts are visible and you can add values.

@Thilini Kumarasinghe I just noticed in 24R1 that Functional Object Id form allows you to select any Cost Ctr (code b in our case - defined in define code string) even though the valid to date has expired it. Is this a bug or is IFS allowing this on purpose?
Kindly note that this Valid To Date is mainly considered in “Pre-posting” pages. When you open the pre posting option in any page, the list for a particular code part will contain only the valid values.
This “Valid To” date was not considered Functional object / Serial object page, not only in Cloud 24R1, but similar behaviour is observed in App 10 version and other latest cloud versions as well. However if there is any concern, please feel free to send a support case and we can evaluate your request.
Thanks Thilini! will log on idea wall. Functional Object “cost Center” is linked to work tasks which is driving work task purchase requisitions / issues of materials / time entry prepostings which is why this was brought to my attention as a posting failed. May not impact the functional object id form directly, but does impact subsequent activities driven by this set up so ideally it should not show any values that are passed valid to date in my opinion.
