HI

I have a client that has three different instances.  Each instance is made up of several companies.  In Apps 9, they would use consolidation and consolidate each instance (2 of the instances) and download a file and add them to the third instance to consolidate to a parent company. They are now going to the Cloud and now have to do Group Consolidation.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the other two instances master company data out of the instance and into the third instance?

Example

Instance one:  four companies that will consolidate into a master company called 49.

Instance two:  three companies that consolidate into a master company called 25.

Instance three: need master company 49 and master company 25 data into this instance. This instance has two companies that will be consolidated together into company 10 with the 49 and 25 to a final master company 99.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

You can download the two master company balances from Consolidation Balance Analysis/Consolidation Period Balance Analysis and import into Group Consolidation using the Transfer External Balances process.  It is designed to import entities not in IFS (or, in this IFS instance).

Or, you can download the period data from the first two instances and load summary balances into a GL entity in the third instance, then import into GC/master 99 using the Transfer Balances process. We were doing this before we implemented GC, so ended up sticking with it instead of loading directly into GC.  I’m sure there are pros and cons with either method.
