Hi

We are trying to do year in IFS APP 10, our first year end since going live in Feb 21. Fixed Assets were loaded in Dec 20 both in GL and well as in FA module. As December 20 had balance in GL we did Q voucher to clear the FA Balances in GL.

We couldn't close year end for Dec 20, as clear Cost/Revenue was zero balance.

We did preliminary year end transfer from 2021 to 2022. than we tried to clear cost/revenue that when we encountered the following error. (please see screen print below)

All this we tried in test data, before we can do this in LIVE.

Can anyone please help or guide us how we can clear/fix this error message.

Thanking you in advance.

Kind Regards

Hi,

It appears this was done in TEST, that’s a good thing.  Q vouchers allow entries to accounts that are traditionally blocked from data entry.   That does not imply that all IFS rules can be broken.  Any time we make an entry to a fixed asset acquisition account you need an object.   That object for balance loading purpose could be a dummy type object established only for loading the balances.  Then when loading the real objects we create the true FA postings and the dummy object can be scrapped.

In any case, the problem is that you have a balance in a true FA acquisition account and you don’t have an object.

The other option when loading balances is to use a non FA acquisition account when loading the balances and allow IFS to create the “real” values during the fixed asset import process.

You may be able to solve the issue by moving the balance to another account or moving the balance to the same account but include a fixed asset object.

Typically I always load the GL balances to non FA acquisition accounts - or load the balance into an FA acquisition account with an object.

Try the q voucher to fix (in TEST) (move to a different non FA acquisition account or move to a fixed asset object.

Best regards,

Thomas
