Hi,

 

We are currently testing the use of planning rules in business planning.

 

We have observed that when we define a planning rule, it is automatically applied to the planning unit (whenever similar planning and assumption drivers are used). However, there is no place in the ‘planning unit’ to connect the planning rule ID. 

 

Could someone explain how the application automatically applies these planning rules to the planning unit?

Transaction-Based planning rules will be applied across all planning units, for as long as transactions exist there within the “Planning Dimension Selection”, because these apply to all transactions. 

 

However, for those rules with Planning Rule Type of “Balance Based”, these are associated with the planning units here:

 

The balance-based rules have to be executed from the above window manually (once the balances are complete).
