For my customer I look to a solution for the following.

A work order was entered and the work type was not entered. The work type is one of the aspects using in posting control. Error message in ‘Distribution and Manufacturing Posting Analysis’ is as follows: 'Value is missing or has an invalid time interval for posting type M50 control type C54 code part A in company x’. Historic WO has been reopened and WO has status Work Done. Transaction are sitting and waiting.

Trying to update the work type gives the following:

 Generated customer order has status Invoiced/Closed.

How to commence and change the work type in the WO?

It is possible to update/change the work type even if the connected customer order is invoiced in the latest APP10 environment (UPD18).
What it the UPD of the environment that you have noticed this issue ?

Is this work task connected to a service contract?
 

Possible work around for the  issue:
1. Defined the value in the column ‘Default value no CT value” on the line of posting control rule M50.

2. Rerun the erroneous work task transaction for the site

We have set the default value. Odd that no one had thought of that before. Anyway, thanks and thumbs up for @Nethmini Kosvinna for the swift reaction. Happy customer on my side.
