Currently we have FSM 6.1 and PSO 6.1. We want to only upgrade FSM to 6.9 but want to keep PSO as it is in 6.1.

So could you please confirm whether FSM 6.9 will be compatible with PSO 6.1?

Hi @TDCMANIRUL,

I believe it should work but you may miss out on some functionality due to the versions not matching up.

It is strongly advised that the two applications are kept in version sync. It is not too big a jump for PSO to move up as well. What is the reason for not upgrading PSO along with FSM?

Kind regards,

Hi Lee,

Last time we got the below response from Aaron and he confirmed that it should be a valid upgrade strategy.

Could you please confirm?

Hi @TDCMANIRUL,

Aaron’s response is from a purely technical standpoint i.e. can the two work together at those versions to which the answer is yes.

But, as the article you link to states, it is advised that the two are kept in sync where possible and cross compatibility is now only done to the latest version of each.

What is the reason for not upgrading PSO as well? Is this a temporary measure? The recommendation is to always keep all apps on a version that is as recent as possible and it is often easier and more manageable to upgrade connected apps at the same time to avoid two lengthy upgrade processes.

Kind regards,

Lee Pinchbeck

To answer your question “What is the reason for not upgrading PSO as well?”, we have started upgrading the PSO to 6.5 last year but the basic functionalities were not working in that version so we stopped that project.
