In PSO , Configuring number of  datasets will decrease the performance of the application?

One of our customer when configuring the application with the requirement we found the number of dataset is reaching to 1000 dataset.  Will it impact the performance of the application?

Also tell me the best approach to configure from the two options

  1. Increasing the number of dataset and decreasing the number of activities in the dataset.
  2. Decreasing the number of dataset and increasing the number of activities in the dataset.

Hi,

Why are there 1000 datasets?  It would be better to have fewer datasets with more resources/activities in. The DSE has to create a plan for each dataset separately so this will affect the performance.

Hi,

Definitely that much of datasets are not recommended in a single environment. It will stress both PSO and FSM environments. So, decreasing the number of datasets and increasing the number of activities within the dataset would be the recommended one, of course you will have to obey sizing restrictions.

If you need to have some separations within dataset, you may use other functionalities like regions.
