Fsm WebClient- Selecting multiple values in drop down fields

Multi-select combo boxes are available in the web client if the underlying field supports multiple values.  Search terms for example can be multiply selected then searched with terms separated by the pipe character.  What is the use case you are looking to support?

I wonder if it is possible, when searching in the characther pipe of the webclient in a dropdown field, to have the selected values appear instead of the word multiple
