 Good afternoon,

Does anyone know how to change the FSM Customer Portal password requirement settings?

When a user tries to change their password to anything greater than 10 characters, they receive the following message:  “The new password value is invalid. The password cannot have fewer than 6 or more than 10 characters”.

This contradicts with our password policy, and with the IFS FSM application settings.

  • we have the “PASSWORD_VALUE_MAX_SIZE” app param set to “64
  • Within FSM, we can set passwords that match our policy (greater than 10 is allowed)

I am looking for guidance on where to update the Customer Portal password requirements.

Thank you

Hi @STRGoedhart,

I am unaware of any special password app params for any of the portals.  Specifically which portal is the issue with? Tech, Repair, Dealer, or simply the web client? You can tell by looking at the URL when on the log in screen. it should look something like the following

http://xxxxxxx/fsm/webclient/auth/login?auth=fsm&logintype=dealer

if it is just the web client then the url will stop after webclient, otherwise it will go on and show a logintype= one of the portals.

Do all uses have this issue?, did it just start to happen?

Thanks,

Morris

@Morris

This is the Customer Portal, not any of the Web Clients.

in FSM, if you look for “Customer Portal” you’ll get to the FSM6CustomerPortal.pdf document, that document is to support the portal in question.

Oddly, that document does state “Valid password rules are setup in FSM and are shared between FSM and the Customer Portal. You can set a minimum length and define which characters can and must be used.”      Which does not appear to be accurate at all.

@STRGoedhart

Sorry, I don’t see that Portal very often. I have not been able to find an answer for you. I will keep looking and will update if I find anything.

Regards,

Morris
