Team,

Can anyone advise whats the importance/business use case of The Broadcast manager which can be configured to post data out from PSO to a external RESTful endpoint?  Anyone used it to post data external system ?  Please let me know how we can use it apart from PSO RESTFul gateway.

Hi Rajasekhar,

The SBM (Scheduling Broadcast Manager) is an essential service in most PSO deployments. Remember that PSO is not the master system for activity related data so it is usually needed to send details of the Plan produced by PSO to the external system. This could be a 3rd party system such as SAP for example or an IFS product such as IFS Cloud. There are different types of broadcasts with the most common being:

  • DSE Plan broadcasts (schedule data)
  • Appointment Broadcasts containing appointment offers (when Appointment Booking is being used)
  • Dispatch broadcasts (activities suggested for committing to resources based on the rules defined in PSO).
