I would like to know more about the explanation for the following pages as help on .file storage types

1. "Complex to setup" is described in the case of "FTP", the environment required for setup and the setup procedure.

2. "Very secure" is described in the case of "database", but we would like to know the specific reason/contents why it is more secure when compared to "FTP".

The database option is most secure because, as long as you are not a database administrator or have the password for the application owner, there's no way to get access to the file. With FTP you are relying on another server as well, which introduce one more thing that someone can "attack".

FTP is totally fine though, especially if you can ensure that the FTP server can only be accessed from the application server by using firewalls or other network features.

Dear Mathias

Thank you for your information !
I understand what you mean by "Very secure".

By the way, I understand that Database has more advantages from a security point of view, but can you tell me specifically the advantages of choosing "FTP" and in what cases you expect us to choose "FTP"?

When you don’t want the document files stored in the database because of increasing backup and recovery times and cost of database storage (it’s especially true when you host the database in the cloud).

I think the IFS Cloud version of the documentation has some more details as well, compared to the version you use:

https://docs.ifs.com/ifsclouddocs/23r1/CreateAndMaintainDocument/AboutDocumentFileRepositories.htm?StandAlone=true

Please be aware of that all things in the latest documentation might not apply to you.

Dear Mathias

Thank you!!

We will check your notification.
