Return to supplier - change of serial number

Hi,

 

we received a part, and afterwards we changed the serial number (twice)

However, when we now want to do the return the supplier, it gives the error ‘inventory part in stock does not exist’. Clicking on the details of the errors, it shows that the system is still looking for the old serial number.

 

Any ideas on how to solve this?

You would need to issue the existing (wrong serial number) inventory part in stock record out of stock, then receive into to stock manually the new serial number.  You would need a project of some sort to do both transactions so that the net inventory value remains the same, but the transactions can be recorded.

Once the right serial number item is in stock - according to the inventory part in stock list - then you can proceed with the planned transaction.
