Hi everyone!!

Is there any way to lock a part number from be buyed?

Example:

I have a part under LTA that expires on May 2022, one buyer tries to add a line or create a new PO to buy this part for July 2022, is there a way or a lock that the system doesn't allow to proceed with the buy?

Thank you in advance

Hi @fhernand0 ,

You can set the relevant Supplier for Purchase Part record to NOT ACTIVE, as below. Then, the system would not allow it to be added to a new PO. This is from APPS10, but I believe this option is there in APP75 as well.

Thanks,

On either the Part Revision or the Revisions tab of the Inventory Part, enter a Phase Out date for May 2022. If a PO line is entered with a date for which a resulting receipt/supply/arrival date falls after the Phase Out date the system should return an error stating it could not find a revision for the part and the PO line cannot be saved. This also is from Apps10, but phase out dates have been around forever and it’s assumed this logic existed in Apps75 also.

Than you!! make this two options will not affect at the current orders and receipts inside the phase out period?
