Question

IPaaS / ETM Licensing

How is IPaaS and ETM licensed?  I understand that the account(s) must be configured as an Integrations license type in assyst.  Is there somewhere in the License form of assyst that might indicate an amount of integration licenses available, or do they piggy back on concurrent assyst users, or is it something else?

Hello James,

You have three different accounts for IpaaS and ETM

  1. The karaf user, is the IPaaS admin account only used to access the Karaf configuration system console and perform upgrades. This user does not use an assyst licence.

  2. The assystIPaaS Service Account, is an assyst user account that performs all the assystREST requests on behalf of assystIPaaS. It is usually configured with an Integrations license and then does not use an assyst licence.

You can change the licence type of that user for troubleshooting purposes and if you need this user to log into the assyst Portal. It will then consume an assyst licence. Note that when the License Type of an assyst User is changed, the next time they log in any existing sessions they have will be terminated as these will be using the old license type.

  3. The assystETM Users, these users access the assystETM interface. They can be set to an integration licence and thus do not use an assyst licence.

Integration licenses are not specified in the assyst license key (so they are not limited in number) as far as I am aware.

They are not mentioned as a license type on the License form either.

The User Session form (Administration > User Sessions) displays the current users recorded on the assyst system and using a license. Under the column 'License Type,' it displays whether the user is using a Dedicated, Concurrent, or Integrations License.

Kind Regards,

Caroline
