Hi,

We recently upgraded our environment to 11.5.2, and with that we re-launched the assystNet portal with a new homepage and layout.

The problem that we are now finding is that some of our users are not seeing the new Homepage, but the old one in the new format - which isn’t giving them a good experience of the portal.

Some users are able to resolve this by clearing browser cache, or clicking the Reset homepage to system default - but what would be good to do is force the default assystNet homepage out to ALL users.

Has anyone come across this issues before? Does anyone know if it is possible to force the default homepage to apply to all users? If so, how?

Thanks in advance.

Are you on-prem? Are you using a loadbalancer/F5?

Hi, We are currently on prem users of assyst, with Load Balancers that sit in front of 2 assystNet dedicated application servers.

Hi Chris,

When we were on prem we had the same situation but utilized 3 dedicated app servers. Ran into this issue frequently but most often after taking system updates from one version to another. The homepage was the most obvious facet if we changed the layout, expanded offerings and locations etc. One thing that I remember was that there is a caching function to the loadbalancer that must be cleared or adjusted which is why you are likely seeing such inconsistency between users and seeing the new home page or not.

Advising our user base to manually clear their browser cache or hit CTRL F5 etc wasn’t feasible.  I would recommend speaking to whoever manages the loadbalancer and having them take a look as even manually clearing the cache of the browser won’t help dependent on if the load balancer is still caching.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

If you login to assystNet with the user that was used to setup the default homepage then there should be an option to ‘publish’ the homepage.

Has anyone figured this out.  We are using 11.5 in a test environment and having trouble getting our Assytnet default homepage set to everyone.  Users have to manually set to the default hompage.  The “publish” option mentioned in the above post is not available in 11.5.

Do you have an alias defined for your contact users?

Per the wiki:

Making a Homepage available to Users in the Self-Service Portal

When a Homepage is ready for use by users it can be distributed using the Homepage option in the Main section of the assyst User Form for the aliased assyst User of each Contact User that the Homepage is to be used by.

We found away around this issue earlier today. If you remove the user’s permission to edit their own homepage then it forces the new layout. After some testing, it is limited to users that log in whilst the permissions are absent.
