Hi, All!

Customer has the situation, when the route is generated through the several PM Actions.

This is possible using the merge functionality.

So, user has one work order containing many work tasks from different Pm Actions.

For this route maintenance team has to ask for some vehicle to arrive all the equipment objects on the route.

Assigning the vehicle to each task separately not looks like the good idea.

Is there any approach to do such resource assignment for whole work order or for number of tasks not making a lot of clicks?

May be there is another functionality to register vehicle (or any tools) usage in maintenance process for such routes?

Or user can register the trip for the route and somehow assign the usage of company's or his own car?

The main point here is to map the route with vehicle/tools usage.

And, the usability of process also does matter.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @EPSDANMI ,

In versions after App10 Work Task will be the key to plan & execute a work & therefore we cannot allocate any resources on WO level. WO will only defines the requirement or problem, but no longer the fulfilment or execution

Looking into the described scenario, one option that I can suggest you is to have one WT & do all the planning on that task.

Here you’ll have disadvantages of,

  • not being able to define different resource, material, cost, etc. on each PM instead you will have to use the same setup in each PM. Therefore if in this scenario if all the work & requirement are same you’ll be able to perform this.
  • Then instead Work Tasks, there will be number of Work Task Steps for each PM

also you’ll have advantages of,

  • enabling one planning unit which will be the single WT

Hi @EPSDANMI,

If the assignment is expected to done in WO level, expecting to reduce the preparation/planning works you can also use a Work Task Template & generate a PM action across the template.

Thanks for fast answer!

Ok, if not to use WT assignments, then what else can be done to cover the situation requirements?

May be another functional?

Hi @EPSDANMI

In Update 8 we have introduced the capability that you are after.

This is from the news presentation for Update 8 and will hopefully guide you in the right direction:

  • An easy-to-use capability where several work orders and/or several tasks can be marked and assigned to a single person or tool/equipment.
  • Similar concept as the Direct Allocation capability already present where this can be done by task, but the user interaction here allows for doing it all in one go.
  • The new dialogue introduced is called Assign Multiple Tasks.
  • Possible to use this in Prepare Work Order, Active Work Orders and Active Tasks.
  • It is only possible to use Assign Multiple Tasks on active work, not historical.
  • It is only possible to select several Work Orders/Tasks to be assigned in the same WO Site.
  • The allocated dates and hours will be fetched from the Task’s Planned Start, Planned Finish and Duration. If no planned dates, the system time will be used.
