Question

Copy ETM Datamappers

Hi all,

Is there a way to copy existing datamappers? I have an existing datamapper and need to create two new ones and they are almost identical. Re-entering them all manually will take hours. Unfortunately. I cannot combine the functionality of all three into the original.

Thanks!

HI Trevor,

You could use the Export and Import options

  • Export the datamapper you want to duplicate. Will create a json file
  • Rename the existing datamapper.
  • Import the json file, and initial datamapper will be created again

Another option that I find quicker is to open the ‘Raw’ tab in the mapper you want to copy. Select all and copy to clipboard.

Then create a new mapper, add any single thing to it (‘No value when’ works well for me) and save. Once saved, head into the ‘Raw’ tab and paste your mapper into it.

You can also create a “snapshot” or copy of the datamapper via the Imports view of the channel. When you are looking at the Imports, click on the datamapper you wish to copy. When you do, it will show you the datamapper, but at the bottom there should be a “Save as New Data Mapper” button. Click on that, change the name and save it.
