Hello all,

We are trying to create a form for “check-list” that will automatically be attached to all newly created work orders. Current plan is to have it as a PDF file. However we cannot see any way of making this document automatic show up on all newly created work order? Is there someone who can assist? We are running Apps9

Thank you,

Michael

Why not develop a custom event that connects a certain document to new work orders? Or create an object connection transformation rule that does it?

Hi Mathias,

Thanks for the reply. If there was a standard functionality, I would have liked to use that. Would you know if an event is created, can we edit the document and keep it on that specific order?
To show Work Order 1234, we have completed check: 1, 2 and 4. To later update check 3 and 5 when those are completed?

It sounds like you might want to keep some template document stored in Docman and, when a work order is created, a copy of the template document is made and connected to the work order. It should be possible as long as you keep the document files stored in the database (it *might* work even if they are stored outside the  database, but it will take more work). Then you should be able to edit that document as any other document in Docman.

By the way, what are those checks? Could they be approval steps instead? 🤔

Hi Mathias,

Did consider that, but as it might not always be the same and a few will have the option of n/a answers.

But thanks for your help, much appreciated.

It sounds as if a survey may be the answer you are looking for. Of course in apps 9 I think survey only works in mobile work order.
