Can someone explain the working of General Queue Module in Astea v14?

We have a customer who maintains business in multiple countries. So, they all have separate country code, nodes etc.,

However, when it comes to work, all the back-office users from all these countries work together under this single business unit. And they need to see “Materials from one country (node belonging to a country) to be visible for another country user (whose node is in different country) in the general queue.”

Is it doable? are there any settings which can be exploited to achieve this behavior in general queue?

Kindly someone explain.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Narendran,

I think this key for you is that you indicate the users belong to different nodes.  So, if you want to control the demand materials to specific nodes for the users you will need to grant access to the different nodes to each user.

For example, you have two users just making up information

User1 who is node UK

User2 who is node FR

Now, there is a material demand created for the warehouse or customer in Node FR but you want to User 1 to have access to the general queue to process the material demand.  That user will also have to have the node permissions for FR in addition to UK to do do this.

Another option is to create a higher level node which is the parent for the specific country nodes and assign the users to this node with the rights to descendants enabled.  This way, you do not need to manage all the nodes individually but only set the ‘Top’ level permission for the user to access.

Same for warehouse, specific permissions need to be granted per user.  Warehouse FR-Main may be node FR but the UK user will also need access to Warehouse FR-Main in their security configuration.

Hope this helps clarify.
