In November 2022, Google is planning to release a new version of the Google Maps JavaScript API. This change will automatically remove the latest Google API version that has backward compatibility for Internet Explorer code in Google Maps APIs and therefore still supports maps in Astea Browser.

This change means that Google Maps in the Astea Browser will stop working in the Dispatch Console module and also in modules that use “find address” functionality, such as Customers and Employees.

To accommodate Google changes, R&D has developed a new Maps solution. The attached Service bulletin document describes the issue and provides more detailed explanation.

So if we use 15.2 we need to upgrade to 15.4?

Yes, if you use maps you need to urgently upgrade to 15.4.2.0.

I’m on 15.1, and have HF12 release. HF12 has a know bug with the Dispatch Console date range. What is the status for HF13 release prior to November? If that’s not viable, can a Hotfix be released to address the bug in HF12?

Kyle, the next scheduled Hot fix for V15SP1 is HF13 and it is scheduled to be released on November 30. But we provided a good workaround for this issue to pin the map and also we sent a local fix that can be installed on machines of Dispatch Console users.  Please let us know if any further questions. Thanks!

Thank you, Lynn

This is in pipeline, but I’ll make sure we have resources on this

For those of us on older versions (v.11.5 here), does this mean that Dispatch Console functions such as Suggest SA will no longer work?

Kathy, your understanding is correct.  Customers on the versions 11.5 and earlier will not get this fix. You can raise a T&M request if needed, but, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide solution for older version.

Re-reading this: this will affect Astea Browser users only. Not Employee Web Portal?
