We are in the process of rolling out WADACO. But have a requirement to manually issue parts (Mainly consumables, that aren’t called up in a BOM), as people come to stores and request certain items on the fly. 

 

We are using issue inventory part and pre-posting to cost centres which works well with WADACO, but there is also a requirement to issue certain items (Again mainly consumables) to a project as well. 

 

We were hoping to achieve the same thing by using issue inventory part, and pre-posting to a project, but this doesn’t seem possible as we get an error saying “External project must have a project activity connection” which seems to indicate that an activity is required, something that you can’t specify when using Issue Inventory Part. 

 

Has anyone found a way around this? We currently use Material Req’s or project misc demand, but there is no way to create either of these items using WADACO.

I don’t know much about the functionality in this process or how it works in the regular client for similar flow, but in the code there is a comment that points that process Issue Inventory Part is not supporting projects.

I don’t know why or if this was scoped out as a limitation when it was built or the reasons for it.
