With V15 SP2, in the new the browser version, most of the main module search screens (QBE’s) now have a quick search field that allows the user to enter a value to be searched across many different fields. This makes the search much easier and more efficient , you don’t have to find the fields you want to search by on the QBE, and let’s admit it, some of these QBEs have so many fields that it becomes a challenge to find what you are looking for… The new quick search comes with a yellow background that makes it easy to see, it’s the first QBE field and in most cases this is the only field you will need, leaving your screen clean & efficient. A red tool tip will show you what fields will be searched when you enter a value. Over time, as more feedback will be collected the list of fields can be refined and extended. Try it out …
Some of our customers are moving to a pay-as-you-go module where they don’t charge for the contract per se but will charge the customers based on the PM or UM work that is being performed. In this module the customer is paying for PMs and or for break fix/ongoing maintenance. This mode may be of higher interest in today’s COVID-19 era where many end customers are trying to reduce expenses and just pay on must-have services delivered. This can be done in Alliance by setting a contract with no price on the header and associate pricing rules to PMs and/or scheduled work. The contract itself will not generate any invoices and customers will be invoiced only for the delivered services. Using invoice consolidation settings customers can receive one invoice per period that will cover the work performed in a given period. Such contracts can be set for a limited time, say 6 months to accommodate business changes such as COVID-19 period or by setting an automated renewal process by exten
It is possible in V15 to set a business rule that will restrict most users from updating orders when they have reached a given status such as resolved or need audit. This will ensure that only users with a higher level of security can update and amend these orders while the rest of the users can view these orders for their needs. This setting adds to the regular node and module access rights and provides better control of order updates and audits. The setup is done in service workflow “Restrict Editing Rights from Status “ (and other order type workflow) here the status from which orders update is restricted is set (usually it will be resolved). In order to provide the higher access rights users should be given the role of ‘order audit’ in their employee record (position page). Users who have that role can edit orders that are in restricted status or beyond. This applies only to orders until they are invoiced, once an order is invoices it is not possible to change it, as was th
In v15 customers can decide if they want to allow repair shop workers to scrap repaired parts. This was done because in some cases parts were registered as scrapped but in actuality pocketed by the staff and then sold on the outside… A repair workflow controls if the scrap option will be available or not in the repair process. For organizations that do not want to scrap repair parts by the staff, the process to define a ‘scrap’ warehouse. From repair, the parts to be scrapped would be moved to the ‘scrap’ warehouse where only authorized personal will be able to perform a misc. issue to remove the parts from inventory in a controlled manner.
Did u know - contract min price. The min value field in contract (billing page) is used to control the minimum value of a contract when submitting for approval. It can be set on the contract template and is applicable on contract quotes as well is actual contracts. It is not part of contract billing, just a header 'floor' check. more to come...
