The difference between these 2 options is that when using finite within lead time, it will be possible to schedule the top part one lead time away from now time, i.e. logic assumes you will be able to receive material when lead time has passed. With both options you should be able to schedule B as soon as A is scheduled. Try reschedule only shop order B when A is scheduled. When using always finite, it will not be possible to schedule B if there is no scheduled SO for A (or material available on hand). From the field descriptions for Scheduling Capacity: Specify whether the material is to be calculated with Finite availability (limited within a fixed non-zero lead time, or always limited) or with Infinite availability (unlimited) during operation scheduling with IFS Advanced Planning Board (APB) or Work task scheduling with Maintenance Planning Board (MPB). Hello Martin,do you have some experiences regarding APB performance in case when all components are set to finite? Thanks for Y
OK, it looks like I have made some progress with this. Some shop orders I am able to drag to afternoon shift, but not all. Also It seems that I need to complete the shop order on the shift that it was started on, i.e. if it starts on morning shift but runs past the end of the shift, afternoon shift is a holiday and then it is restarted on the next morning shift. Could this be because of the labour assignment? I have all employees set to infinite capacity. Hi Grame, when the operation has relationships to labor classes with the one-shift calendar only, then it is obvious that you are not able to make a production to 2 shifts (independently on the finite/infinite settings). Best regards,Zdenek B.
Dear Martin, thank you very much for Your response to the question #1. I have missed this settings, it works, this is exactly what I have looked for!Regarding question #2 I am assuming that there is no other option how to freeze schedule.Regarding question #3, could I ask You to clarify the difference between Unscheduled and Infinite scheduled operations? From my point of view, Unscheduled are really Unscheduled in APB, while Infinite scheduled are scheduled by an in-built IFS planner. Once more thanks! Have a nice weekend,Zdenek
Dear Naveena, thanks for Your picture related to question 2. This figure is depicting one of 2 options that have been mentioned in the question how to fix the plan in APB. If more, please describe which one…Best regards,Zdenek Baumelt
