What represents the optimal choice between IFS Cloud SAS offering and remote deployment? Could you outline the advantages and disadvantages of each option?

The managed cloud (service) is worry-free and doesn’t require customer infrastructure.
This should be the default choice.

The remote deployment option exists for special cases, such as for customers working with data that is somehow limited in where it can reside etc. , for example on the defense sector. It does however require much more from the customer IT, so should only be implemented if managed cloud is not an option for some verified reason.

Hi @japauk ,

To assess what is the best fit (optimal choice) for your organization, you will have to assess the “IFS Managed Cloud (SaaS)” and “IFS Cloud - Remote” hosting options based on below criteria's or even more :

  • Cost
  • Skills
  • Control and accountability
  • Management freedom
  • etc

For example : Control and Accountability

IFS Managed Cloud (SaaS)

  • Delegation of IMS services to IFS + Compliance with IFS standard processes
  • Dependence on service provider - IFS
  • Adapt to the standard SLA/KPI of IFS managed services with your business needs/ITSM processes

IFS Cloud - Remote

  • Complete control and responsibility over environment management
  • Possibility of deviation (strategy) between your IT strategy and that of IFS
  • You can align SLA/KPI of IFS cloud application based on your business needs/ITSM processes

In summary, the optimal choice must be based on your business/IT expectations from IFS Cloud and then you can decide which hosting option serves the purpose

Anil
