Dear All,

we want to use the Excel Addin as Transport Tool to Create or Update Customer Order / Sales Quotation Lines. Now when we use the Excel Add In we have to do the following Steps:

  • 1.Open Excel
  • 2 .Open Excel Addin and Login
  • 3. Choose the Migration Job
  • 4. A Popup Window if we want to Load in Same Sheet or in a new Sheet

With these 4 Steps we have then the data entry Colums and van work with Search, Validation an Execution.

We want to get rid of the Steps 3 and 4. Furthermore we want to Save an Excel with the alrady loaded Data Entry Colums and already Choosen Data Migration Job.

Has anybody an idea if it it possible to do so? As an Alternative we would like to Automate the steps.

Any Ideas?

Thanks Stefan

Doubt if this is possible. I push in this remark to see where this thread leads. Maybe an idea for R&D should be raised.

@JAKSTEFREP This would mean that each user would have a default (I mean only one default) migration job that would be selected upon opening.

The Excel migration job makes use of Foundation Migration, which is on the plate of being depricated. Don't have an idea how this could/will work with Data Migration Manager.

Hi,

You can do this by using Data Migration.

First, you must create a job to import data into the Excel file, which is in .csv format.

Next, you need to create a job to transfer the imported data to the sales request. (migration job)

Note: We are using IFS 8.

Thank your for your Response - yes this will work - but in the end we want to use the Validation in Excel. For your understanding we want to giv the PSreadsheets to Users - They will enter Data and then they have to Validate if all is fine. Excel Add-in Can do the Validation. Uploading a CSV will bring the Error first afetr execution of the Migration JOb. Any Other ideas?
