We are preparing for an IFS cloud implementation coming off of two other ERPs.  In order to prepare the business workstream leaders we want to provide a business glossary that can use to understand IFS terminology and how our current ERP terms translate. We have seen the IFS documentation online which has a lot of information but seems to be conducive to technical resources.  Does anybody have or know of a source that is more appropriate for business users?

two simple Examples.

  1. We currently have a project work breakdown structure of “Project Group: Project: Task: Worktyp”     IFS is “Project: Sub project: ? :  ?”
  2. We have a Term call Direct labor hours which are hours charged to customer project.
Name IFS Term (Future ERP) Description
DL Hours (Direct Labor or hours charged to external project) ? Hours charged to a customer project
Project Group Project  A categorization for related project codes within the same overarching project, often reflecting different phases or scopes.

If you are working with a partner, my advice would to be to ask them based on your solution what they can put together for you.  If not, do you have specific area’s that you’re going to be using that might help narrow down what that would look like?

@RWiley  thanks for the reply.  we have asked our partner but haven’t gotten a meaningful response.  I thought we would try the community as this is good simple test to see the value in the community.  In regards to specfic area, we would be grateful to anything related to Projects, Finance and manufacturing.
