We have multiple requests coming in from the sales team for material reservations against forecasted POs from customers down the line ~ 1 month/2 month/etc. What is the best way to execute this request through IFS10. Currently our warehouse planner executes manually reservations with an Excel log which is cumbersome and not effective.

Hi @BaptistP ,

One option which I could think of is entering the customer order with a future delivery date (estimated) and reserve the material for the CO line and then block the CO manually (RMB in CO header > Manually Block Order) to avoid further processing. Later when you receive the actual PO from the customer, you can modify the details in CO (dates etc.) and process the order. More information regarding blocked COs can be seen in below slide:

Another option is to move the required quantity in to a separate location and apply an Availability Control ID over the stock record which will not allow Auto / Manual reservation. So, these parts will not be reserved for any other orders. Later, when the actual PO is received, you can enter the CO and reserve this material after removing the Availability Control ID.

Thank you.

Thank you Ravinatha for your prompt response. I will review the suggestions with the team internally and deploy what is best feasible for us.
