Is there anyone out there that can explain the functionality of this new columns?

 

We upgraded from Applications 10 Upd10 to Upd13.

This new column is used when a sales contract is created from an opportunity. In the sales contract you can list items just for information and mark them as excluded from contract. If a sales contract is linked to an opportunity, these lines should not be included in the opportunity value. The Exclude from Total column was added to the opportunity lines to indicate that the line is not part of the contract value.
