It is possible to install the Employee Portal without Internet Explorer (IE) using Microsoft Edge.

 

To Install Employee Portal Using Microsoft Edge

1. Open Microsoft Edge and go to url 'edge://flags/'

2. In the search box, type ClickOnce and press Enter.

3. Change ClickOnce Support to Enabled.

4. Click Restart to restart Microsoft Edge.

5. Install Employee Portal.

To add to this, in the latest HF release for v14, v15.1, v15.3 and v15.4 it is possible to install the Astea Browser from Microsoft Edge.  Review the release notes for your respective versions and you should see something like this one found in v14 HF26:

 

 

Pleae note, MS is removing access to IE for the Windows client user in future updates later this year but the IE engine is still present and will continue working with the Astea Browser (e.g. Dispatch Console) even after they remove the access.

Another option we found recently is that MS Edge can be set to emulate IE 11.  I tried it out and found that Astea V14 (which we have a lot of problems installing with MS Edge usually) installed easily, just like with IE 11.

I made an instruction for our users, attached
