Alliance v14.5 - Is the address_format in the country table used?

We would like to store information for formatting addresses per country for customer facing documents.

I discovered a field named address_format in the country table. This does not appear to be used by Alliance.

Can anyone confirm if this field is used by Alliance v14.5?

Yes, I cannot see address_format in the country table is being actively used by Alliance.
The same is version V15.
