When we create a Service order, and the first activity is an “external” activity, the rest of the activities we add default to external. Can we turn that “default” off? We will have an external source do the first survey or permit on an order, but the rest of the work will be our SA’s. And when they mark the activity as incomplete, it automatically adds the next activity… with a PR for the external work.

(I am answering this the same way as the other post you raised for the same question in the Alliance group forum)

Hi Angie,

I can reproduce your scenario and I do not find a way to turn off this default.  I have tried defining a new stop code which does not assign the SA and does not supply default SA or Action groups.  It still creates an external activity per your initial activity.

At this point, I think to prevent this would have to be a custom code change as executing a stop code with the incomplete option will always create the next activity and it seems to base it on the activity that was incomplete in relationship to the External flag.

If you don’t want to create a new activity at all, you can turn off the incomplete flag which will allow the order to still be ready but a new activity will need to be created for your internal service agent, instead of automated.

Another option is to have a primary activity for the internal action group but no agent.  Make a stop code called ‘Pre-Check Complete’, do not set incomplete flag on the stop code.  Then you can perhaps search for open activities (primary) while there is the external activity with the stop code Pre-Check Complete.

Just thinking out loud.
