Quicksight Report - Value cannot be null. (Parameter 'bytes')

Hi,

I’m trying to create a Quicksight Report using Query Designer on a custom Entity. The query runs fine but when I try to generate the report I get a cryptic error.

“Value cannot be null. (Parameter 'bytes')”

I tried to remove my parameter and hardcoded a filter but I get the same result. Tried to correct some permissions but I get the same thing with IFS_ALL.

IFS Version: 25R2

Am I missing something? The report is extremly basic, just trying to print some data.

 

Report Layout (WoNo & TaskSeq are from JtTask, CF:s are from custom entity)

I also have a basic join, but I tried without it and still get the same error.

​@r.holmberg Did you find the fix to this issue?  I am experiencing the same thing when a non IFSAPP user orders Quicksight reports, so I suspect a permissions problem.

You are probably correct. It would seem it’s a permission problem of some kind. When I try to order a Quicksight report with IFSAPP it works. Tried to fix the permissions but I can’t find anything specific.

Confirmed it’s not language related either, logging provides nothing. I will try some other things and let you know if I can get this to work. Hope you do the same if you find anything.

I’m experiencing the same thing! The preview in the quicksight report seems to preview okay but when I go to print it from the order report, I get that same error. I was hoping to find a fix soon so I can continue experimenting with this for label purposes.

​@jayoneil98 I’m wondering if your Quicksight report has parameters on the query?  I did some debug internally but it’s difficult to make progress since I can’t Order Report Studio layouts in a Build Place.  We’ve asked IFS for a Partner Success session and I’ll update this thread if we make progress.
