Hi Has anyone been able to link with sql from inventory transactions to WaDaCo data capture sessions and line sessions and in a simple way. I'm using nice label to print off different labels linked to inventory transactions and would like to be able to differentiate from which wadaco config was used to change the nicelabel template and label printed out. thanks Nick
I am attempting to set up warehouse data capture functionality in IFS apps 10 and need help in understanding what the correct GS1 format should be for simple transactions. Firstly when creating GS1 barcode does the AI leader require ( ) or not, secondly the ASCII code 29 (GS) is this also required to be set inside ( )? The Hand Held device I am pairing with IFS is A Zebra unit this is picking up the data string and showing clearly the AI and the GS. Is there anyone within the community that can advise how to get the GS1 structure working? Any advice greatly appreciated.
I have come across with many support cases with this error. So, I thought to share few things that you can check and do to get resolve this issue.Check if the users are granted with WADACO Mobile User permission set Make sure you have enough licenses in license manager. Check if there is any issue with the Extended Server affecting WaDaCo's license management. Check if special characters are used in username/password (Eg: råvaror). Not recommended to use non US-ASCII characters for usernames and passwords (https://wis.ifsworld.com/f1docs/apps9/foundation1/040_administration/210_security/010_users/010_user/default.htm) Go to Application monitoring console' > Search for 'PL/SQL Access Provider' > Check if it is RED (turned off). If so get resolved that."In APP10 version, it is a requirement that “DEFAULT” message queue “enabled” for the PLSQL Access Provider to work properly.”Check if there are any active old WaDaCo sessions available. If so remove them. For that, you can use “Remo
Hello,I’m looking for help with the item list on the WaDaCo WinCE terminal.By default, the first list item is selected - it’s problematic when the barcode scanner gets a different (out of item list) string. The scanner is set to press “ENTER” after each scan, and it confirms the wrong location (please see screenshot attached). Is it possible to change the Windows client's configuration - so the first list item will not be selected by default?WaDaCo Windows terminal (Zebra)Damian
We’re seeing an issue when Oracle fails over or moved from one RAC node to another. IFS itself works as expected but Warehouse Data Collection (WADACO) does not. The result is that anyone attempting to use WADACO in either in the IFS IEE screens or in the ScanIT touch apps receives an error telling them that "no Warehouse Data Collection licenses are available" but this is not correct. Checking the WADACO licenses we see that we have many free each time this has happened. We can fix by restarting the IFS Apps Server services using mws-svr command but this causes a dull downtime for all IFS that we need to avoid.Has anyone got any insight into why WADACO isn’t failing over like IFS does? With the mechanism in place such that WADACO only consumes a license when a user accesses those screens inside IFS makes me think that the WADACO connections are made differently than IFS as a whole.
Hi All,This is a headsup if you are using Warehouse Data collection on a oracle RAC, one of our customers last year had a strange problem of sessions locking each other and then its being ending up as a license issue, where customer stacking up multiple sessions from the same user and the count is going to the maximum number of user sessions. The issue started happening when a single oracle instance load was high and when it tried to serve a Warehouse Datacollection related request by the second instance. Wadaco client waits for a 60 seconds until it receives a response from the server and if it doesn’t receive, retry button will be enabled again which in terms creates another request. But the initial request is in a state which is unusable but it is locking the Data_Capture_Session_Line_Tab, after a tiring investigation we identified the issue was a time gap between the two RAC instances, and it was a whooping 1 hour. The acceptable amounts of differences are milliseconds i think. Onc
Hi , my customer very instested in WaDaco Aurena Native. While, there are still a few functionality they required are NOT in the WaDoCo "process".So, they want to ask , if we are able to IFS Development Studio to develope custom "Data Colloection Process". (or only R&D can do this.)
Is it possible to use a 2D barcode as part of logging into WADACO on a Windows OS barcode scanning device? The customer is utilizing SSO (Single Sign-on) and so the user only has 2 chances to login directly before their AD account is locked for 30 minutes. The customer would want the 2D barcode to have the username and password embedded in it so that a single scan with an automated carriage return gets the user logged in.
Hi,Currently we have 15 scanners in our Production which use 15 IFS licenses to run WaDaCo. We’re planning to implement approximately 65 new scanners in other factories to use WaDaCo functionality. Do you know if it will demand we use 65 new IFS Licenses or is there a better and more efficient way we we can approach this? It could be great if it’s possible to decrease the use of licenses. 80 licenses for the use of WaDaCo seems high.So It is possible to ‘share’ licenses? We tried to test the use of same/shared license on multiple scanners and the sessions were ‘parked’ so it didn’t work. Please share your knowledge :) Regards Christian
I wanted to understand the main differences between Apps 8 and Apps 10 for the module in IFS called WADACO?• What modules are in APPS8 and APPS10 WADACO?• Are there any key differences?• Any improvements between the two?• What difference in functionality is there in Apps 10?• Can the Cedar Bay modules be replicated in Apps8 and Apps 10?
We are using Availability Controls with our materials to prevent certain parts from being backflushed or issued to orders, or shipped prior to an approval. Our issue is that when we move these materials with Move Handling Unit, the Availability Control is lost. We can’t put a default on locations because we could have different parts with different controls in a given location. We tried using Move Part, but if we have multiple lot/batches on a Handling Unit, it is split with Move Part. Does anyone know of a different way to save the Availability Control during an Inventory Move, or prevent the splitting of a multi-lot/batch Handling Unit?
The customer block a batch in stock by using Availability Control Id, later the batch No and qty is moved to another location using WaDaCo process. When doing this the current Availability Control Id is removed which is gives big problems as the blocked material now is available for demands, still not approved for use. I figure out a way to set-up WaDoCo so the user can add a Availability Control Id but this is a non working solution in the long run. Is there anybody who knows how to configure WaDaCo so current Availability Control Id remains on the batch and qty after move. The customer cannot have Availability Control Id connected to a location due to size and weight of the parts. This is the current set-up, to be change to support customer req//Anders
Hello,I am setting up the “Report Picking Part” Data Collection Configuration. Every time that we report picking from the scan gun, we create a handling unit prior to that. The first step of the report picking process is to choose which Shipment Handling Unit ID you are attaching the parts in which you are picking. Every time we do this process, we always choose the most recent Shipment Handling Unit ID that was created (that process never deviates). I am trying to have the system auto-pick the most recently created handling unit ID, but the auto pick function always chooses the first value in the LOV. The most recent handling unit ID created is always the last. Is there any way I can always make it choose the most recently created handling unit?
WADACA - Register Arrival - How to set up the Register Arrival process for a non inventory purchased part
Hello,Every time that I attempt to Register Arrival for a non-inventory purchased part from the scan gun using the Register Arrival process, it asks for the “Source Ref Type”. When I choose the List option, there is no value that I can pick from. When i look at the Register Arrival screen from the IE client, it says that the Source Ref Type is a Purchase Order. The WADACO process isn’t pulling this value in automatically as it does for purchased inventory parts. Below is how I have the Register Arrival process set up. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is something not set up correctly in the Purchase Order or the WADACO configuration? Thank you,Matt
I was wondering if there’s an easy method to see which WaDaCo transactions allow you to set up the camera / photo attachment functionality? The “Camera Enabled” box is available in all configurations but I know it’s not actually usable in all of them so would be good to be able to know which ones have it and don’t without building and testing each different type of configuration.
Hi Everyone, Is there a way to create a popup or notification when trying to start a new transaction before completing your current transaction. We are trying to prevent incomplete transactions in WaDaCo or users moving on before they hit save. Thanks for any help or suggestions. -Mike
Hi, just sending this to check whether anyone have the same demand as I do. my client is using a tote (HU) when doing picking, tote is used as a gague to make sure all parts in each tote less than 60lb as they will convey this tote onto a conveyor line. I don’t see any current WADACO process available in APP10 update 8 for the senario i mentioned above. kindly advise. Thank you. Ron
We are seeing many sessions of IFS left Active even after the individual has logged out of IFS (we had sessions that were active for over 2 weeks and had restarted the environment at least once during this window). I know what is causing this and we are working on the user community to exit appropriately (selecting the Menu when done) but I’m trying to figure out is there a configuration/setup/utility that we need to have to clear out these old sessions? I can create a process to remove them in the background, but trying to determine if there is a function that we should configure in IFS and not use a brute force deleting process.
Hi On ScanIt there is no login/logout functionality, this means that it’s not possible to share a device between different warehouse workers. Having several accounts in Account Manager and switching between them is not an option either since it’s not secure enough. Already on IFS Applications 9 customers asked for a login/logout function on Scan It. What is the roadmap for the future? Will there be a new app on IFS Applications 10 replacing Scan It which has a login/logout function? Or will you keep Scan It as it is on IFS Applications 10 without any login/logout feature? Best regards Sebastian
We are having an intermittent situation when picking parts with warehouse data collection. Here is our custom created pick list. First, I go to REPORT_PICKING_PART in WaDaco. Then I enter the data for line 1, and I get an error message that says Location No 24A18 does not exist in the context of the entered data and this process. So I start over and I enter data for line 2. It processes completely. Then I go back to line 1, and it processes completely. It appears that IFS is expecting us to pick these 3 parts in a certain order. How can I find out what that order is? I want to print the lines in the correct sequence because its causing workers to go back to a location they were just at to redo the task. Typically this isn’t an issue if material is kept in different bins, the issue comes when the material is in a shared location. So for example the pick list above wouldn’t be an issue because we can start at the top and work our way down the list and follow the prompts on the WaDaCo and
