A question that comes up regularly is “what does restricted support mean”? To start let’s remind ourselves that the maintenance agreement is applicable to the licensed IFS Application and not a specific version. Customers with an active maintenance agreement have access to the latest version available and maintenance is delivered in full for that version (standard support phase). Support is always delivered for the version a customer has in productive use however, if this version is under restricted support, there are limitations in the maintenance deliverables. In order to explain the details a bit more we need to look at two of the many objectives of a software maintenance agreement. Firstly ‘support’ is the reactive engagement to receive, accept and handle a case where a customer has encountered a problem. This problem is investigated and analysed, assistance to service restoration is provided and path to resolution is determined. In cases where the cause of this issue is an
Having worked with IFS Enterprise Explorer (EE) over the past 5 years, I am finding the transition to Aurena very challenging. Many of the features/functions I have come to rely upon in EE don’t seem to exist in Aurena. For example…Start pages Doc macros Structured Docs Info Cards Send to college Sticky notes Go-To-Column Conditional formatting Selections Save as template / New from template Copy and Paste Count hits Advanced search (i.e. group, count, sum, etc) Quick charts Find and replace Keyboard navigation (e.g. using cursor up and down in a table view) Keyboard shortcuts Open in new window (via Shift key) Save as draft Font colour for read only and Edited text (via options menu in EE) Expand all on Product Structure Graphic screen System info (context panel in EE) Output channels (context panel in EE) (also, neither field help or page help seem to work, and Aurena search sometimes gives inconsistent/incomplete results)Aurena offers 2 notable user-facing advantages over EE: The fi
With Updates becoming main vehicle for delivery of fixes and new functionality for IFS Applications there is a greater need for our Customers and Partners to be able to validate impact of merged Update on configurations they have developed. This has been made possible from Update 6 for Application 9 and RTM release of Applications 10. However up to very recently it involved help from IFS Global Update Team who could include export of configurations developed by Customer and/or Partner during Update Analysis and provide list of impacted areas. From second half of 2019 we have even better solution for dealing with Update impact analysis on developed configuration. IFS Product Development made it possible with IFS Configuration Analyzer. Now Customers and Partners can perform impact analysis at any point in time – before, during or after delivery of Update delivery. Tool will present impacted configuration in a list that shows type of impact and allows to export that information to Excel.
Has anyone heavily customised IFS apps 9 to suit their business? we are looking to upgrade from Apps 9 to Apps 10 in the next year and am wondering if we will lose any functionality from our customisations. Has anyone had any major problems moving from apps 9 to 10? Am considering a customisation freeze to make sure the process has as less need for regression testing. Perhaps am being over cautious? we have a number of improvement requests to streamline IFS for the business and don’t want to stifle potential time/effort saving initiatives. Thanks

Hi, I have signed the application and c an see that the manifest file updates. If I click the application directly in D:\IFS\IFSExt\IFST\repository\client\runtime File name: IFS.FND.EXPLORER it works fine. If I click the link on the splash page I receive the below error. The Deployment Provider url looks like the link is incorrect but the Deployment url has the correct link. Would be great if someone knew where to update the link. I recall when moving to IFS Apps v9, we were sold on the fact that future version upgrades would be much easier! We moved from IFSv7.5 to IFSv9 in early 2018. Although it went without a hitch, it was no small project from an IT or Business point of view. We now see that IFsv9 is nearing the end of its standard 5 year support phase, moving into extended support in Mar 2020 (We were obviously a bit late to the v9 party!). Is there anyone out there who have upgraded from v9 to v10. Was this a straight forward upgrade? Did you stay with your original Oracle version? What was the impact on users? Vague request for information I know, so happy to receive vague discussion/answers. FYI: We are a manufacturing business, multiple sites worldwide, around 400 users, Hosted on-prem, Oracle 12c. Cheers Mike

Hi All, We are currently on IFS V8 and looking at Apps 10. We are evaluating the pros and cons of using Aurena Client vs IFS Enterprise Explorer (IEE). Can you please let me know whether Aurena has all the functionalities (including Solution Manager functionalities) that IEE has or , if we choose to use Aurena in Apps 10 , will we still have to use IEE for certain things ? Any help would be greatly appreicated. Thanks , Ushani Gamage
Hi there, Found out that UPD 8 of IFS Applications 10 was to be released at 30 April. Were do I find content/release notes for that release? I am in particular interested in the development of new interface IFS Aurena, and changes around Project Management, HR and CRM. Best regards, Filip
If you attended our Webinar: Upgrades and Path to Evergreen, here’s the Q&A. You can watch the webinar here, if you missed it! Q: What is a CRIM? A: Configurations, Reports, Integrations and Modifications Q: Is it possible to upgrade to IFS 2020 R1 if you're not currently on Apps 10? What are the additional challenges, if any? A: Yes, it’s possible to upgrade to IFS 2020 R1 from older versions of IFS, you do not specifically need to be on Apps 10 to upgrade to IFS 2020 R1. Q: Is it true that under Extended Support, new fixes will only be provided for SEV1 and SEV2 bugs? So not all fixes are included. A: Extended Support included SEV1-SEV4 fixes. Just like in standard support only the merging of SEV1-SEV2 are included. For merging a single patch for a SEV3-SEV4 a fixed price is charged. The customer may wait for the next update. Although IFS may reduce the cadence of updates during extended support. Extended Support includes Severity 1 and 2 fixes. Q: Dell Boomi's integrat
Hello Information in “IFS Applications 10 Supported Platforms” says that there are planned support for Oracle 19c in IFSAPP 10 UPD6 (and higher). Can an IFS person verify that it is reality, and still not a plan. IF still a plan when will the app10 be supported on Oracle 19c

Hi everyone, we are currently upgrading from APPS9 to APPS10. Today I tried to export the Overview Part Cost History as a CSV-File in our IFS10 test environment. I got an error saying that I can only export a maximum of 10000 rows. Does anybody know how to expand the row limit for a CSV-Export? I never got that message on IFS9. Thanks in advance.
