Upgrades & Updates

Hello Can any IFS Customers, Partners or IFS Consultants in the Community elaborate on an upgrade you’ve made from IFS App9 to the Cloud?We are in App9 UPD14, we are debating to go through App10 or not. What do you think?We have quite a lot of customizations and configurations and maybe, only maybe, some of them will not be needed after the upgrade.  Thanks!

With Updates becoming main vehicle for delivery of fixes and new functionality for IFS Applications there is a greater need for our Customers and Partners to be able to validate impact of merged Update on configurations they have developed. This has been made possible from Update 6 for Application 9 and RTM release of Applications 10. However up to very recently it involved help from IFS Global Update Team who could include export of configurations developed by Customer and/or Partner during Update Analysis and provide list of impacted areas. From second half of 2019 we have even better solution for dealing with Update impact analysis on developed configuration. IFS Product Development made it possible with IFS Configuration Analyzer. Now Customers and Partners can perform impact analysis at any point in time – before, during or after delivery of Update delivery. Tool will present impacted configuration in a list that shows type of impact and allows to export that information

Has anyone heavily customised IFS apps 9 to suit their business? we are looking to upgrade from Apps 9 to Apps 10 in the next year and am wondering if we will lose any functionality from our customisations. Has anyone had any major problems moving from apps 9 to 10? Am considering a customisation freeze  to make sure the process has as less need for regression testing. Perhaps am being over cautious? we have a number of improvement requests to streamline IFS for the business and don’t want to stifle potential time/effort saving initiatives.   Thanks   

Having worked with IFS Enterprise Explorer (EE) over the past 5 years, I am finding the transition to Aurena very challenging. Many of the features/functions I have come to rely upon in EE don’t seem to exist in Aurena. For example…Start pages Doc macros Structured Docs Info Cards Send to college Sticky notes Go-To-Column Conditional formatting Selections Save as template / New from template Copy and Paste Count hits Advanced search (i.e. group, count, sum, etc) Quick charts Find and replace Keyboard navigation (e.g. using cursor up and down in a table view) Keyboard shortcuts Open in new window (via Shift key) Save as draft Font colour for read only and Edited text (via options menu in EE) Expand all on Product Structure Graphic screen System info (context panel in EE) Output

Hello,we have done IFS cloud upgrade from 23R1 to 24R2 in use place environments and we noticed that after upgrading ,in the screen we are getting non mandatory custom fields shown as mandatory (please refer below snapshot) ,we have checked in page designer this fields are not set as required. if we try to save it without entering value for that field ,still record is getting saved but it creates the confusion to user and we need to avoid that.please help if anyone has encountered this issue or any suggestions for the same.Regards,Gaurav

HiI’m interested to have an understanding of the everyday life after the move to Cloud version and how you keep up with the IFS releases and upgrades.Many customers seems to go the “update once a year” route to get to the latest release. I am currently in the midst of testing the IFS Cloud IFS Connect Reader using SFTP. While I have conducted several successful tests with the known host file, I have encountered an issue when using the private key-public key pair. I am unsure whether this is a bug in the application or if someone has successfully used the private key to read an SFTP location via the IFSCloud Connect Reader. I would greatly appreciate any insights or comments on this matter.

Hi All, We are in the process of migrating from APPS8 to IFS Cloud and I’m having trouble updating a particular user profile so that I can use it to access IFS Cloud. I have chosen one of the simplest users (minimal screens/functions available) which requires minimal modifications.I have allocated the appropriate, I think, Projections to a Permission set for this user but when I try to log on I get a number of popup windows with errors relating to Profile and Person info.See below:- Can anyone point me in the right direction to help resolve my difficulties with logging on to IFS Cloud please? Cheers,Neil.

Using EE in apps 10 -In the Sales Basic Data i have a custom field created to show Primary Market  in the Markets tab.I now have been to as to have this column also in the Business Opportunities page and be able to search by this column.Can i duplicate the custom field that is on the one page into the other page and as required search on this field?

Hi,Recently I encountered an issue while creating a new project in IFS Developer Studio. Anyone already did the Windows 10 Update 20H2 released a few weeks ago and faced problems with IFS 10 Upd 9 ? Any word when it will be certified by IFS ?  

Hi,  With the help of Sajith D in this topic I was able to config SSO login for our Cloud R2 setups: “https://community.ifs.com/upgrades-updates-81/azure-ad-sso-with-ifs-cloud-r2-17998”Problem is now that as soon as I configure the “Directory ID” on a user so that the user can login through SSO, they get below errors once they are logged in: They are logged in but unable to see any pages. They can log out however. Their profile settings show no data for them.I have done this on three different environments with same result. If I remove the Directory ID they can login as a database user without problems.Am I missing something essential here? Hi Community, I have found below installation error below when deploying UPD12.!!!Error occurred while executing Plsql BlockBEGIN Object_Connection_SYS.Refresh_Active_List__(5);END;ORA-20105: Assert.IS_LOGICAL_UNIT: "CounselingPlan" is non existing logical unit. But I can't find a logical unit called "CounselingPlan".So do I need to follow any manual steps to fix this? Thanks,Kalana

It is possible to do direct upgrade from IFS7.5 to IFS10. If the answer is no, what is the recommended path…..like IFS7.5 to ISF8 and then from IFS8 to IFS10 etc.

Getting error while logging into IFS Aurena  

Hi All, We are currently on IFS V8 and looking at Apps 10. We are evaluating the pros and cons of using Aurena Client vs IFS Enterprise Explorer (IEE). Can you please let me know whether Aurena has all the functionalities (including Solution Manager functionalities) that IEE has or , if we choose to use Aurena in Apps 10 , will we still have to use IEE for certain things ? Hello,As we began applying the Release Update 24R2, we noticed that a new component, WRKTSK, has been introduced as part of this release. Several APIs (entities, utilities, and enumerations) have been moved from the existing WO component to WRKTSK.We have customized approximately 30 APIs from this list, and now we need to uplift these APIs from WO to WRKTSK. Could you please advise on the best approach to carry out this task?While using the Impact Analyzer tool, we noticed that the results don't provide sufficient comparison details (screenshot attached for reference).Additionally, we are unable to find a way to download all the core files of 24R2 to analyze how the WRKTSK files have impacted our customizations.Has a

HiFrom management server we are giving Kubectl command giving this below error shown in screenshot.We are using IFS Cloud 23R2. Please provide suggestions.  

My company is having an issue. At the moment, we are testing APPS10 with an expected go live date in November. Since testing, with a very limited set of users, we have noticed that some are getting .dll errors for pages they frequent. One day during testing they can see it, the next they can’t. In apps 9, the user could technically cause a .dll error if they cancel out of the download at the bottom when they first go to the page. In 10, there is no cancel button available when downloading the package to view the page (good improvement). We did some testing. While troubleshooting I moved the .dll file that the page was complaining about to a separate folder > went to “download all packages” > IFS realized it was missing 1 package and downloaded it > but we still can’t see the page until we delete everything out of the 2.0 folder. The only help I’ve gotten from IFS is to clear the cache which is essentially the equivalent of an uninstall/reinstall of the instance since it del

For 22R2, release notes came out late - on the day of the release. I’m unaware of any other major ERP waiting until launch day to inform their base what’s coming. Instead, both summary and comprehensive (yet trackable) detail is shared 30-60 days in advance. For 23R1, what can we expect around release notes - and when? The release is coming out later this year, so we’re now in the sweet spot to help us manage change in my experience.What I hope to avoid beyond (waiting until May 25) is having to go module announcement by announcement to gather the highlights. And then seeing bullet 15.7 on the release summary (under Procurement) referencing supplier hierarchies as something to consider when updating. Then have to go to the 23R1 help docs to learn about 3.4.7.1 Manage Supplier Hierarchy… Happy to share more of my past experiences and expectations via this thread or directly. Thank you,Russell
