Responding to the threat posed by log4j, I am reading semi constantly that IFS app 9 is not affected. However. we have confirmed that the log4j jar file is named with 1.2.17 versioning, and yet when we both Run defenderInvestigate the source data The indication is that the file is in fact 2.xx, specifically in this 2.12.1. This is revealed in the META-INF/maven/log4j/log4j/pom.properties. See picture below Also, your KBA says:where when we check the file, we find Lookups as an option/folder.So our question, how and why our WD pcks up this, despite log4j not supporting it in 1.2.xx? This leads me to believe that somewhere along the way, someone updated this. Can you verify? Thanks,. Antony
Hi all,I am currently in the process of updating from Apps 9 Update 10 to Update 16 and noticed that my server startup/shutdown scripts aren’t working as expected. It seems the cause is due to the E:\IFS\IFSExt\<INSTANCE>\mw_home\as directory being replaced by the mws directory. In the hopes that this was a simple location switch I changed the startup/shutdown scripts to reflect this change in directory. echo Starting Middleware servers...cd /d %DRIVE%:\IFS\IFSExt\%SID%\instance\%SID%\bin%JAVA_HOME%/bin/java -cp %DRIVE%:\IFS\IFSExt\%SID%/mw_home/as/wlserver/server/lib/weblogic.jar weblogic.WLST %DRIVE%:\IFS\IFSExt\%SID%/instance/%SID%/bin/mws-startServer.py startall %PWD%to echo Starting Middleware servers...cd /d %DRIVE%:\IFS\IFSExt\%SID%\instance\%SID%\bin%JAVA_HOME%/bin/java -cp %DRIVE%:\IFS\IFSExt\%SID%/mw_home/mws/wlserver/server/lib/weblogic.jar weblogic.WLST %DRIVE%:\IFS\IFSExt\%SID%/instance/%SID%/bin/mws-startServer.py startall %PWD%cd /d %DRIVE%:%LOGFOLDER%ping -n 5 127.0

Dear communityI want to hear some advice from you about IFS update. One of our customer is considering IFS Apps9 update from Update 6 to Update 17.To reduce some cost, we will run Update Analyzer and skip detailed verification of the files resulted "No Impact" by Analyzer. [Need advice]Could you tell me about risk factors of skipping detailed verification on "No Impact" files ?For example, some factors might need to be verified anyway because they are out of scope of Update Analyzer.Or maybe, somebody could tell me about actual problems in update caused by skipping/reducing verifications on "No Impact" files. I heard that a similar tool for other ERP software was too loose and failed to catch many "Impacted" parts in its analysis.I believe IFS Update Analyzer is much tighter but I wonder how can I trust on it. Thank you.
Hi, what is the standard method for on-premise IFS customers to ensure their Oracle databases and Java components like WebLogic are patched? Are these patches included in Update deliveries, or are they installed separately? Who normally is responsible for ensuring Java and Oracle for the IFS environment are patched? IFS (via Deliveries), or the IFS Customer? If it’s the IFS customer, can the customer DBA just install the latest Oracle and Java patches on-demand, or do they need to be verified to be compatible with IFS first? i.e. will installing the latest patches break the IFS environment?
I am doing an upgrade of custom events and fields in Applications 10. I have two instances of Apps 10: In one instance I am adding all the custom events and custom fields to configuration packages. I am then importing those package in another instance of Apps10. The custom events in the packages already exist in the Apps10 instance I am importing them to. However when I import them it tells me that the custom event already exists (which is true) and in the case of the custom fields it does not overwrite the the existing field, it creates a new one with “_2” appended to the name. When I was creating the packages there wasn’t a setting to allow me to overwrite the object I am exporting if it already exists in the IFS instance that I import it to. Likewise when i imported the package I was not given the option to overwrite the object if it already exists. Is this the way Configuration Packages work? It isn’t possible for me to delete all the objects in the db before the import.

Hello!I’ve installed the global extension to our Apps 10 Test Environment, but do not see the Localization Control Center tab on the company screen, or the Localization Control Center Country Specifics screen in the System Setup Folder. Is there another step I am missing? Thanks for your help!
When attempting to setup the account in Account Manager 10 for our test environment on my android pad, I get the error: Exception: Offline. The steps that produce the error are: Load Account Manager 10 Click ‘Create account’ Type in the System ID Type in the TAS URL Click ‘Done’ This routes to our SSO login page Type in UserID Type in Password Click ‘Done’ And that is where I receive the error. I have successfully setup the Account on my Android phone without any issues. My pad is Android 7 (fully updated, can’t go to a newer release) and my phone is Android 10. I have checked and verified that the System ID, URL, UserID and Password have been entered correctly. If I go directly to the URL I login without issue to the customer portal. Any suggestions on what it might be?
IFS 8 allowed the use of alpha values in the Outer Min and Outer Max fields on control plan parameters that had an attribute data type. This does not appear to be the case in IFS 10. These values did not carry forward in the conversion script from IFS 8 to IFS 10 and when we attempt to add manually in IFS 10, we get a ‘Field Format is Invalid’ message. Is there any configuration that is available that would enable the use of alpha values in the Min and Max fields. Thank you.
according to what we were originally told , app server / middleware UPD 8 and higher supported Windows 2019. Prior to that 2016, The question is can we upgrade the OS to 2019 prior to applying IFS Apps 10 UPD 8 without the update 8 and 10 script breaking? Our DB server is already on 2019. Thanks for any guidance or experience that can be provided.
I recently tried to install a Touch Apps server in my Apps 10 (UPD6) test environment, and continually received an authentication error even though we have confirm IFSMOBILITY user is active and password is correct. Once I cancelled the installation and tried to re-run, I not get the following immediately upon “Run as Administrator” on RAS installer:
